Auskids Curriculum

Our curriculum is tailored with careful attention to cultivate a lifelong love for learning among young children. Aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework, Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines, and My Time Our Place Framework, it provides children with unlimited possibilities for growth and development.  Rooted in the values of exploration, discovery, and creativity, our curriculum empowers children to explore their interests, cultivate critical thinking skills, and foster a deep sense of curiosity about the world around them. At Auskids, we believe in providing the best possible start to the children in our care and creating a supportive environment, grounded in the principles of belonging, being, and becoming.

A Curriculum Centred on:

Experiential Learning

We believe that experiences shape young minds for a brighter future. This is why we prioritise experiential learning at Auskids, providing each child with opportunities to indulge in nature play and fearlessly explore their interests. As a part of these activities, children are engaged in mud play, rain play, sand play, rocks, tool use, tree climbing, and other natural elements that are integral to our outdoor learning spaces. These environments encourage risk-taking, open-ended exploration, spontaneity, and a profound connection with nature. With these unique experiences, we help the little minds develop confidence, resilience, teamwork, social and emotional skills, as well as early literacy, mathematical concepts, and scientific inquiry.

Problem-Solving

At Auskids, our curriculum especially focuses on the problem-solving skills of young children. We design activities that encourage them to explore different possibilities, take risks, and discover the best solutions. Through hands-on experiences and guided exploration, children learn to approach challenges with creativity, resilience, and critical thinking. It also helps build confidence, boost self-esteem, and promote a sense of independence. Our goal is to empower them to confidently tackle problems they encounter, both in the classroom and beyond, laying a solid foundation for future success.

Collaborative Learning

Collaboration and communication is the guiding principle of our curriculum. We firmly believe that children learn best in social settings, group environments, and through interactive experiences. Our educators facilitate collaborative learning regularly through a variety of activities, including group projects, team-building exercises, cooperative games, and peer-to-peer discussions. These activities encourage children to work together, share ideas, and learn from one another, developing essential skills such as teamwork, communication, and empathy.

Auskids Programs

Our programs are tailored to meet each child’s interests and designed in accordance with the Early Years Learning Framework, Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines, and My Time Our Place Framework. Our ‘Child-Directed Program’ allows our young explorers to choose activities based on their current interests, encouraging positive self-concept and boosting confidence. We have a range of age-appropriate programs with especially allocated rooms for every child in our care including:

  • Bilby room: 0-18 months
  • Possum room: 18-24 months
  • Joey’s room: 24-36 months
  • Kindergarten room: 3-6 years

Kindergarten Program

Our Kindergarten program runs daily for 7½ hours for eligible aged children. It offers an enriching early learning experience that prepares children for a successful transition to school. Our curriculum is aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines, ensuring a high standard of education for your early learners. By focusing on play-based learning and child-directed activities, we support each child’s interests and encourage their holistic development.

Bush Kindy Program

Nature play is at the heart of our Bush Kindy. We believe that children learn best from their environment, and so, this program immerses them in outdoor activities that promote their inquisitive nature through exploration and discovery.  Nature play helps children manage risk, cope with change, and respond positively to challenges while enhancing skills such as communication, problem-solving, cooperation, and creativity. Exposure to the natural environment also stimulates their immune systems, builds positive sleep patterns, and provokes their senses.
